  4. These are gorgeous and expertly drawn. The aspens are golden here on the mountain. This morning I emptied the ash bucket and watched it rise to the trees in billowy wisps. Thank you for capturing these sparkling moments.

  10. Princess or Queen of haiku today, yes, more than apropos, a perfect balanced statement, a functional recipe for Fall. And like others, I adore haiku #2 & #6, as a drop of water is a microcosm, a universe within molecular maze, and the paean to aging is bang on, hits me both in the solar plexus, and third eye. What a terrific celebration; thanks.

  11. Wow, Gay, what a lovely haiku cycle -- love that it is cyclical visually and feels cyclical thematically. And what beautifully creative composition!

  13. All are beautifully penned — my favorite:
    "Age, a carnival mask
    The child within still struggles
    Always seeking home"

  16. The scorched blanket image fascinates me, evoking a sunburn from falling asleep on a picnic blanket (as well as autumn leaves :-) ).

  19. A wonderful composition, in every respect...Each haiku is a distinctive vingette, bringing the reader through the general, to the specific and, finally, to the distinctly personal. A fine treatise on change, the inevitable, mortality, transition. A very special and memorable work.
