Words in Nebula, Thoughts in Supernova

Hubble picture of newly found earth-like planet as seen on Ideviate.org

your poems are leaking
                  oozing binary strings
emotions, images, history
         before the half-life decay
          I am receiving you
              across the space/time continuum

your thoughts flow in code,
         pump my heart,
drip through me with arterial insight--
       inspire me
           with sensual repetitions
     driving life source

your algae spreads, your grass grows,
     your flowers transform time
pistils and stamens glowing
           your words become my atmosphere

your rant of injustice roars
through urban jungles of my mind
I leave the church
     follow the bread-crumbed path
               you left in rhyme
to search for the god that connects us

your sensuous data proves
           though we are mini-
         microbes in the universe
                    yet
          like the TARDIS we are
all vast and malleable on the inside

your imagination rises
                         huge as a moonlight monolith
able to transform,
                translate,
                     transact,
                         transfer sets of self
across time
        relaying intuitive understanding
                  providing capsules of
                  love, hate, light, darkness,
                  fear, comfort, beauty, loneliness

your inspiration
reorders the centers of my thinking
your delivery
births my inventions each new day
your music rings the spheres
peeling down from age to age

  3. Wow, lots to love here, like the line /to search for the god that connects us/ god with little "g", part of the gods, dog spelled backward; and I really dig the parts that refer to Tardis myth, that some things, including us, are much bigger on the inside than it appears, microcosm vibes, like those tents in Harry Potter novels that really are 5000 square foot mansions.

  5. nice...i love how there is an explosion of life in grass and flowers...terraforming...through words across time....def a surreal edge to it, but i really lie the overall metaphor or cosmic cosmetic you give this gay....

  6. Great imagery... and wonderful choice of words. A poem can do wonders. So well presented- how we get inspired and influenced and transfixed by the written word. :-)

Your entire poem resonates--very nicely done.

  9. A great poem about the symbiosis between reader and writer, how the words grows this way, feeding on one, being nurtured by the attention of the other. It's something that keeps growing, even after death, despite all the lonely differences (and perhaps BECAUSE of the distances. Perhaps this is why nuclear physics is closest in kin to poetry. Fine fine work, Gay.

  11. Lovely to read you Gay ~

I specially like this part (including format on the page):

    your imagination rises
    huge as moonlight monolith
    able to transform,
    translate,
    transact,
    transfer sets of self

  14. Luscious! I love it all, cannot pick a part. I felt like your narrator was speaking my mind to some of the scifi writers who inspire me--Kate Wilhelm, Sheri Tepper, Octavia Butler, Starhawk, Marjorie Kellogg--lots of the old girls and some new ones ... and also the prayer meeting, Friends of Jesus, that I just returned from, and all of the faith I've looked through to understand Love and Light. Thank you.

  17. This is a rare and perfect gateway, an exchange through time and space that enriches life. When we can engage these dialogues with artists throughout time we find our own work blossoms. May be my new favorite of yours (so hard as I have quite a few favorites). I love it, thank you for the treat :)!
