Consider this Christmas
On the day of Christ's birth
the miracle that is
YOU
A single snowflake
like no other
An oak leaf
one of many on its tree
A shell
which has traveled oceans
A star
Born of light, giving light
YOU
family vessel
inheritor of history,
progenitor to the future
YOU
belong only to yourself
By being, you have made a difference
Singular, you establish change
YOU
think, design, create and give
YOU
yourself are a gift from God
YOU
will always be loved
YOU
are
UNIQUE!

ReplyDeleteWhat an inspiring message for this time of year, Gay! Indeed...each of us and everything in nature is unique, a miracle, and loved by God.
ReplyDeleteeach of us a miracle indeed... it is just an uplifting thought and even more in the light of christmas when he who owns everything made himself small...
ReplyDeletelove the message in this...each one of us a unique creation, nit together with care.....
ReplyDeleteand if we truly believed that...imagine how we would live...so free....
Yup. So I have said, and I'll consider it again, hoping this time I feel worthy.
ReplyDeleteYour message of hope, love, & fellowship brims with Christ consciousness & cosmic truths. As terror & strife continue to surround us, how fortunate we poets of the dVerse fellowship really are, how blessed. I am humbled & thankful to have been given a place at the poetic table, to be invited to the feast, & to the Pub a couple times a week; so may it continue.
ReplyDeleteThis is my second poem for the prompt. My first is here: https://hollyheir.wordpress.com/2014/12/01/concord/

ReplyDeleteOK, you had me at snowflake...but this is hands down going to stay close to my heart! What a glorious celebration of words and truth!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful song of truth and hope you sing here in poetic words of Loving oneself as one loves all others too...
ReplyDeleteAnd truly the words I know as truth by the man named Jesus...too..:)
As loving all that is.. is loving
YOU

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NOW!
A beautiful inspiring poem. Without the love of God, too many would be loved by no one. It is a cruel world for some.
ReplyDeleteI feel spirit - such heart warming note, Gay. Loved it.
